Tuesday 13 October 2015, at 6p.m – It is not Paris… Sighs, sounds and times dilated… from Debussy to Grisey

Claude Debussy, Syrinx for solo flute

Fausto Romitelli, Domeniche alla periferia dell’impero for clarinet flute violin and cello

Gerard Grisey, Vortex Temporum for piano and five instruments

It is not Paris… but they are the sighs of the god Pan and the nymph of Debussy, they are the spaces at the borders of the empire of Romitelli, they are tools imagined and transformed into a dilated or ideal time. It is not Paris where the songs were written, it is not the reality but the matrix, the archetype or the chemical formula of matter that transforms into a sound spectrum and is distributed over time in such a way as to fill the spaces like a long breath or the friction that is created in the movements of nature in Grisey’s Vortex temporum.

Saturday 31 October 2015, at 6p.mThe twelve-tone series in Bussotti’s house, in his works, in his teachers

Stefano Scodanibbio, Quodlibet for viola and cello

Georges Aperghis, Faux Mouvement for string trio

Luigi Dallapiccola, Ciaccona, Intermezzo and Adagio for solo cello

Sylvano Bussotti, Nude stretched out for viola sola

Bruno Maderna, Widmung for solo violin

Sylvano Bussotti, Trio Milano for string trio

In Bussotti’s house, in his works, in his masters, in twelve-tone and internationalist Italy. It’s a paradise of sounds, heights, structures and free inventions where the provocative act coincides with a thousand small dissonances aimed at reinventing the universe of rules. Rules sometimes tightened in a new armor and in new codes, in this concert dedicated to the strings, with an extremely Italian flavor rich in warmth and musicality.

The program is curated by mdi ensemble and Davide Santi. The concerts are included in the program of the Estate Fiorentina 2015.
