At the end of a three-year traveling project dedicated to Sylvano Bussotti, as part of the study conference organized by the University of Florence and scheduled for the same day, the Museo Novecento is hosting a concert by mdi ensemble. The program includes, alongside the Florentine master, another compositional genius of the Italian twentieth century, Niccolò Castiglioni, to conclude with the music of the young German composer Arne Gieshoff, one of the winners of the 2016 edition of the Call for Scores of mdi ensemble.

It was formed in Milan in 2002 and since then it has been a regular guest of the most important musical institutions, including Milano Musica, where he is artist-inresidence until 2017, Società del Quartetto di Milano, MiTo Festival, Venice Biennale, Bologna Festival, Trajectories of Parma, Ravenna Festival. He has concerts in Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Germany, Japan and the United States to his credit. Since 2016 mdi ensemble, recent winner of the Una vita nella Musica prize awarded to him by the Teatro La Fenice, has curated the Sound of Wander review in Milan, a series of concerts and masterclasses whose contents are also partly proposed in Florence, with the specific intent of creating an artistic and musical journey that unites the two cities. This edition of Contrasti is also curated with Davide Santi, a Milanese violinist who has already curated several exhibitions and concerts in Lombardy, including the Milanese season Palazzo Marino in Musica.
