Museo Novecento of Florence is an example of innovation since its birth, thanks to the multimedial approach which enrichs the direct fruition of the italian art of the 20th century with the latest generation technologies. In order to constantly improve the visitors’ experience, the Municipality of Florence has reunited companies and professionals to propose ideas and solutions based on ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), with the aim of experimenting for free for a certain period of time at the Museo Novecento.

INNOVecento – Museo Novecento Innovation Lab, a project of experimentation of technologies applied to cultural heritage, starting from the contents and tools already available Museum. Within the INNOVecento  program we point out the Coderdojo workshop, the teaching of languages and programming techniques aimed at young and very young people through the game. The youth programming club is part of an international movement that now has more than 400 coderdojos around the world. In Florence, the coderdojo is formally a project of the Associazione “FabLab Firenze”.

At the workshop organized at the Museo Novecento, free with compulsory reservation, children from 8 years can play a tutorial in Italian based on Scratch 2.0 https://scratch.mit.edu/scratch2download/  the project initiated by the Lifelong Kindergarten group of the MIT Media Lab in Boston, led by Mitchel Resnick and now spread around the world. The session is particularly suitable for all those who want to approach computational thinking and evaluate a potential interest in software programming.

For whom: children from 8 to 17 years. Maximum 15 participants.

WARNING: to participate in the workshop you must bring your laptop (Windows or MAC) and have installed over the Scratch program at this adress. . Without a laptop it will not be possible to participate in the workshop.
