Art house cinema returns in the cloister of the Museo Novecento: “Museo Novecento renews for the second year in a row the collaboration with Spazio Alfieri and M.Arte a.p.s., presenting for the Florentine Summer a rich calendar of film screenings – says Sergio Risaliti, Director of the Museo Novecento – the summer arena, used for about 130 seats, will be animated by arthouse films, previews and screenings from 20 July to 6 September, in the scenario of the ancient Hospital of the Leopoldine of Piazza Santa Maria Novella, home of the museum. With pleasure we renew this important collaboration to increase and expand the cultural offer and provide the public with an opportunity to experience the museum space in a different way, in the name of interdisciplinary”.

In the room on August 9, in collaboration with Music Pool, the tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini, on the hundredth anniversary of his birth: an exclusive interview with Ascanio Celestini, master of storytelling theater, edited by Stefano Fabbri, authoritative signature of Florentine journalism. Celestini has carried out a careful research with testimonies and documents to recover the most important moments of that often forgotten piece of history, and narrate them in his show “Museo Pasolini”. Following the screening of the film “Centoventi contro Novecento”: in the football field of the Citadel of Parma to face each other are the teams of two films that are being shot simultaneously in the area: “Novecento” and “Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma”. In front of each other there are two great film stars: Bernardo Bertolucci and Pier Paolo Pasolini. In the film the director Alessandro Scillitani tells the ‘partitella’ organized to reconcile the two directors, dedicating a wider space to Pasolini, in telling his passion for sport and attention to the urban and existential suburbs.

The journey ends at the old and grumpy Howard’s secluded farm, from which Wayne has rented a rather shabby outbuilding that, unbeknownst to the old man, will be the set of the porn, titled The Farmer’s Daughters.
