Celebrated for his large-scale figurative sculptures, Thomas J Price draws our attention to the psychological embodiment of his fictional characters, foregrounding the intrinsic value of the individual and subverting structures of hierarchy. Amalgamated from diverse sources, the works are developed through a hybrid approach of traditional sculpture and intuitive digital technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Price balances the presentation methods, material and scale to challenge our expectations and provide cues for deeper human connection.  The artist compels the viewer to consider how and why things are made, embedding references to ancient, classical and neoclassical sculpture alongside a sophisticated understanding of the symbolic power of materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition designed for the halls of Palazzo Vecchio will feature sculptural works of varying scale set up within the permanent collection of the civic museum.  Central to the exhibition are the two outdoor bronzes, one standing in the courtyard of Museo Novecento and a 3.6-metres-tall golden sculpture in dialogue with the historic works in Piazza della Signoria.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
