Florence 1944-1966” to be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Center for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci Prato from 9.30a.m to 6.30p.m.
The convention is focused on the idea of the New City elaborated by Giovanni Michelucci, in the climate of ideal tension and solidarity raised with the Liberation, when in Florence polarized the energies of a group of architects, professors, assistants and students of the Faculty of Architecture and important personalities of culture and art willing to give a profound change to the process of reconstruction of the city.
This happy season of intellectual collaboration, prepared in the meetings that took place while the country was still immersed in the tragedy of the war and then in liberated Florence, produced ideas, proposals, innovative projects in architecture, urban planning, design, in art, publishing, and was also reflected in literature and cinema.
