At the beginning of the twentieth century Yambo (Enrico Novelli) was one of the pioneers of science fiction and of modern story-telling by pictures in Italy. This eclectic author worked as an illustrator, caricaturist, writer but also director. In 1910 he realized Un matrimonio interplanetario (1908) and in the thirties he was to publish many works dedicated to young people and cooperated with the main daily newspapers of the time. The meetings taking place at the Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri and at the Museum of the Twentieth Century are to shed light on his varied production and, in particular, on his interest for science, studying Yambo’s activity with relation to the historical context of those years.
