First screened in 2002, the historical film Russian Ark directed by Alexandr Sokurov and set entirely in Russia’s Hermitage museum offers an excellent means to explore how museums and history are imagined in cinema.
We will watch the film together and listen to the experts’ commentaries. There will also be time for questions and discussion.
This is the second appointment of the Museum and Cinema Workshop, a series organized by the Marist College – Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici M.A. in Museum Studies.
Free admission subject to availability of seats.
