Guided tour in collaboration with the Giovanni Michelucci Foundation

On the occasion of the celebrations for the eightieth anniversary of Santa Maria Novella station, the Museo Novecento proposes a focus on the connections linking various artistic disciplines, in relation to the critic and designing activity of Giovanni Michelucci. The meeting, with a special guided tour, starts from a focus on the experimentations by some Tuscan artists linked to the architect and active after World War II, moving on to the lively artistic and intellectual environment of Florence in the thirties. The works by Vinicio Berti, Gualtiero Nativi and Venturino Venturini, with some documents relating to the figure of Giovanni Michelucci, also accessible from tablets, will be examined. The contributions to the first editions of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino by Giorgio De Chirico, Gino Carlo Sensani, Felice Casorati and Gino Severini, shown, by way of replicas for conservation reasons, in the exhibit, will help the spectator immerse himself in the cultural ferment between the two wars. Lastly, a debate inspired by the theme of the return to order, involving important magazines of Florence or linked to the city. The scan of some frontispieces, that one can leaf through on the tablet, will allow an exchange with works by Ardengo Soffici, Giovanni Costetti and Oscar Ghiglia.

Reservation mandatory, max 30 people.
