Discourses about a book
CERAMICS’ DESIGN. STORIES OF LANDS AND PROJECTS
Ugo La Pietra and Gianni Veneziano will converse with the author Stefano Follesa. Introduced by Valentina Gensini, Museo Novecento, Maria Pilar Lebole, Osservatorio dei Mestieri d’Arte and Oliva Rucellai, the Director of the Museo Richard-Ginori.
Ceramics’ design. Stories of lands and projects by Stefano Follesa is a collection of memories and considerations concerning the ceramic project and, more generally, the planning of the object. The contributions, in part coming from a series of lectures delivered by some of the most influential ceramic designers, show a passion for an extraordinary material such as ceramic, and, at the same time, a renewed interest in debating, in a complicated phase for the entire culture of planning, in particular the design planning. The essays and the lectures’ reports are part of a wider debate aiming at defining new strategies and new practices for ceramics’ design. The book includes works by Emmanuel Babled, Andrea Branzi, Luisa Bocchietto, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Ugo La Pietra, Ambrogio Pozzi, Luca Scacchetti and Gianni Veneziano, and contributions by Francesco Armato, Maria Pilar Lebole, Giuseppe Lotti, Paolo Pecile, Oliva Rucellai, Vittorio Amedeo Sacco and Alessio Sarri.
The initiative Stories of lands and projects, by Stefano Follesa, Giulia Gigli, Angela Muroni, Oliva Rucellai, Alessio Sarri, was promoted by OMA Osservatorio Mestieri d’Arte. The book is edited by Polistampa.
The conference is part of the series of meetings with artists, designers and curators concerning the contemporary production of ceramics, on the occasion of the exhibit Materia Prima by Marco Tonelli at the Museum of Ceramics in Montelupo. Free entrance while seats last.
