Lachenmann, Webern and Gervasoni in a programme in which the voice of Angèle Chemin is the protagonist and with a strong generational bond between the composers. Il Trio per archi is one of Helmut Lachenmann’s first pieces of chamber music and abounds with references to serial music of which the Webern trio is a brilliant representative. Although Stefano Gervasoni has never studied with Lachenmann, he identifies the German composer as one of the great pioneers of contemporary music, who succeeds in prising the encrustations of musical history without forsaking its roots.
