ARCHIZOOM, SOTTSASS AND SUPERSTUDIO. PICTURES FROM THE ARCHIVE OF THE CENTRO STUDI POLTRONOVA
Francesca Balena Arista, the author of the volume Poltronova Backstage, meets Michela Arfiero, Dario Bartolini, Roberta Meloni, Cristina Morozzi and Cristiano Toraldo Di Francia.
From Archizoom’s Superarchitettura and Superstudio to Ettore Sottsass’ Superboxes. The Museo Novecento unveils another fundamental chapter of the path that led Tuscany to become a true protagonist of experimental design in the sixties and seventies. On the occasion of the new arrangement of the section dedicated to the Architettura Radicale, the launch of the book Poltronova Backstage allows to study the relationship between Ettore Sottsass, Poltronova and the Florentine groups. The volume, by Francesco Balena Arista, focuses on a moment of the radical years between 1962 and 1972: a unique story of design, kept at the Centro Studi Poltronova, coming to life through pictures of the pieces taken by the authors themselves and through the memories of Dario Bartolini, Andrea Branzi, Gilberto Corretti, Paolo Deganello, Adolfo Natalini, Cristina Morozzi, Barbara Radice and Cristiano Toraldo Di Francia, with a prefaction by Michele De Lucchi.
Free admittance while seats last. The access to the museum is not included.
