Itinerant tour of the collection of the Museo Novecento and of the exhibit From Kandinsky to Pollock. The Art of the Guggenheim Collections. In collaboration with Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi.

The guided tour to the exhibit of Palazzo Strozzi and the collection of the Museo Novecento is a unique occasion to discover the role of collectors in the circulation of art in the past century and the interaction between the art scenes of the two continents. A journey through two important collections to analyze the exchanges between European and American art and to ponder over some great themes inflaming the artistic debate in the twentieth century: from the harsh confrontation opposing the supporters of abstract art to the supporters of figurative art, to the relationship between images and words, and to the discussion over the object and the idea, the uniqueness and reproducibility of the work of art. The tour will focus on the works by some Italian and international masters of the twentieth century, among which Bruno Munari, Lucio Fontana, Emilio Vedova, Marcel Duchamp, Jackson Pollock, Marc Rothko.

Meeting point at the Museo Novecento, 5.00 p.m.
