Museo Novecento / Le Murate. Progetti Arte Contemporanea

From 13 to 15 October the Museo Novecento and Le Murate. Contemporary Art Projects host the second edition of “Emotional Museums”, the innovative training course aimed at public and private professionals working in the field of cultural heritage, promoted and organized by Nemech (New Media for Cultural Heritage). The program of the three days is full of meetings with expert museographers who will illustrate the theoretical-practical techniques for the design and setting up of the exhibition spaces of the future, through multi-sensory interactive experiences and case studies, addressing the theme of “emotional museums” in the light of a concretely multidisciplinary perspective. Emotion, involvement and participation are increasingly central aspects of the most up-to-date research on new-trends in 21st century museums: The exhibition spaces are intended as generators of special educational and multiform experiences where new languages and immersive technological solutions are developed that are primarily capable of attracting, exciting and involving different audiences. In these social and dynamic spaces, new digital media give voice to different narratives that explore collections in a creative, emotional and personalized way.

Museologists and experts in museum learning, lifelong-learning, creative-museums and audience-development will discuss the theme of emotions and different styles of informal learning in a national and European perspective, introducing manuals, Psychologists, neuroscientists and philosophers will also address the topic of emotional intelligence and the role of emotions in creative, intuitive and cognitive human processes: how can emotions motivate understanding? In what way can the emotion and the involvement of different audiences contribute to raising the cognitive and learning processes? Finally, a wide overview of the new technologies applicable to exhibition and museum spaces will be offered. Researchers and new media experts, through frontal sessions and creative workshops, will guide to the knowledge and use of the technological tools present in the NEMECH Competence Center, discovering new design scenarios for multimedia and immersive applications. The Museo Novecento will not only host the training course, but will represent a case study analyzed by speakers and participants in the course.
