Michele Marasco (flute) as principal flute has collaborated with numerous Orchestras including the   “ORT – Orchestra della Toscana”, the “Carlo Felice” Opera Orchestra of Genova, the MDR Radio – Symphony Orchestra of Liepzig, the Opera Orchestra of Zurich, the Orchestra of “Teatro alla Scala” in Milan, the “Filarmonica A.Toscanini” in Parma and The “Accademia di Santa Cecilia” in Rome. His commitments as a soloist and chamber musician have led him to perform in some of the most prestigious venues and Festivals worldwide, such as Carnegie Hall (New York ), St.John’s Smith Square (London), Wiener Konzerthaus (Wien), Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Ravenna Festival and the Contempory Music Festivals of Strasbourg and Salzburg. As a member of the “Italian Wind Quintet” he has been on tour to Israel, France, Great Britain and the United States. Perhaps most importantly is his contribution to the contemporary music scene, where he has given many first performances of works by Berio, Sciarrino, Gentile, Hoffman, Stuppner, Tutino, Cavallari, De Pablo, Donatoni, Luporini and Einaudi. In 1999, invited by Luciano Berio and Maurizio Pollini, he performed as soloists in the Salzburg Festival, in 2001 at the Carnegie Hall (New York), in 2002 at the Kioi Hall in Tokyo, in 2003 in Roma at the “Parco della Musica”, in 2006 in Wien at the Wiener Konzerthaus and in Milano at the Teatro alla Scala, in 2009 at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and in Paris at the Salle Pleyel. His projects for 2014 – 2015 include concerts and masterclasses in Europe, USA and Japan, and recordings of works of contemporary European Composers.

Marta Cencini (piano) graduated with top scores cum laude under the guidance of Lucia Passaglia at Conservatorio “L.Cherubini” in Florence, she particularly focused her studies on chamber music at Scuola di musica di Fiesole, Accademia Filarmonica della Scala, and with maestros Franco Rossi and Piernarciso Masi at Accademia di Alto Perfezionamento di Imola. Winner of numerous national and international contests ( “Cilea” di Palmi, “Viozzi” di Trieste,”Gesualdo da Venosa”di Potenza) she regularly collaborates with Musical Istitute “Orazio Vecchi” of Modena and Accademia di alto perfezionamento del flauto of Imola.

Her concert career led her to perform for some of the most important italian and european musical institutions : Wiener Konzerthaus of Vienna, Istituto italiano di cultura di Strasburgo, Amici della musica e Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, Festival Valentiniano di Orvieto, Teatro “Bibiena” di Mantova, Orchestra della Toscana, CIDIM, Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna, Teatro “Guglielmi” di Massa. In May of 2008 she performed in the U.S. in duo with flutist Andrea Oliva during the 31st Flute Festival of Denton (TX) and in the city of Orlando (FL). Additionally, she’s regular guest of “Festival internazionale S.Gazzelloni” for which she collaborated with some of the most internationally renown flutists such as M.Larrieu, B.Fromanger, J.Balint, A.Oliva, D.Formisano and Michele Marasco with whom recently recorded a live CD focused on flute and piano works from the 900s published with the magazine “Falaut” in january 2009 number.

The concert is part of the program Estate Fiorentina 2015.
