9. the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (1933 – 1953)
The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino began in Florence in 1933 and is a new interpretation of the theatre, seen as an integration between performance and visual arts. This principle has left behind an extraordinary wealth of drawings, costume fashion plates, sketches and scenery models, created by key contemporary artists. This room, laid out with the contribution of the Maggio Musicale, shows the important research promoted by the Festival involving all the arts. In particular the soundtrack makes it a listening environment dedicated to the most highly experimental programmes presented by the Maggio in its first twenty years of activity.
