4. cross-pollination between music, the visual arts, 22 mass communication, design and architecture

The ‘60s and ‘70s were animated by both enormous vitality and huge contradiction. Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti planned an International Museum of Contemporary Art that never saw the light of day, while artists were experimenting with hybridisations that transcended the limitations of genre. This extraordinary creative period embraced several different disciplines, and saw the first Italian electronic music Chair instituted at the Florence Conservatoire, experimental music and performance, links with Fluxus, experiments of the Poesia Visiva and the birth of Radical Architecture.
