24 June 2015: the first birthday of the Museo

The Museo Novecento celebrates its first year of activity. Inaugurated on 24 June, it has established itself as a new cultural hub, registering in the first 12 months over 80 thousand visitors and organizing numerous activities aimed at involving the public and citizens. From October to today the Museum has hosted cycles of meetings and conferences that will continue to take place weekly, to deepen the twentieth century in all its forms of expression, from figurative arts to dance, from theater to music, from architecture to design, in collaboration with critics, scholars and professionals, and the most important cities including, not least, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

The Museo Novecento has also proved to be an ideal space for everyone, as evidenced by the success of the activities for families and children, and by the performances and events organized during the events that involved the whole city, like the White Night and the Children’s Festival. On the occasion of the first birthday of the Museo Novecento, the Florentine headquarters of A.gi.Mus presents the young String Quartet TAAG winner of the First Prize and the Special Prize Piero Farulli at the VI international competition Premio Crescendo città di Firenze.

The TAAG Quartet was born between the conservatory of Turin and Piacenza, in the classes of C. Ravetto and M. Decimo. The ensemble participated in the festival myth for the city 2012, Mozart Nacht und Tag 2012, myth 2013, Beethoven Festival, Perinaldo Festival and collaborates with the association Musicaviva. The Quartet has been awarded the Pugnani Prize 2012, the Absolute First Prize at the Crescendo Competition with the Special Jury Prize and the Special Prize “Piero Farulli”. The musicians took part in the masterclasses of Hatto Beyerle, Antonello Farulli and Christophe Coin. They were also invited to the VII ECMTA congress. The group collaborates with pianist Anna Maria Cigoli and cellist/composer Lamberto Curtoni. Currently the team is specializing at the academy W. Stauffer with the musicians of the quartet of Cremona.
